This is why deadmau5 is not just a producer, but in my opinion, one of the musical geniuses of our current time. At least in electro.

I've filed this under electro, but in reality I can't justify putting this into any category! It's just so fricken original. It's analogue and digital coming together in a driving, house-destroying, laser-gun shooting build-up and explosion.

Not everyone will get this track, but I think the connoisseur of electronically produced music will sit back much like a classical composer listening to a legendary opera and nod their head knowingly.

Is this the track of 2010? I can't believe I'm saying that so early in the year.

The novice DJ will use this as the first track of their demo CD. The more skilled entertainer will use the drumroll beginning of this track in ways that (I hope) will make crowds stand rigid, raise their hands in realisation and scream. Dramatic description much? This deadmau5 piece deserves it.

Wickedest Sound (Calvertron Remix)

Oooh me likey-likey! Typical of Calvertron, it's dirty, hectic, and big-room! And yet not so heavy that you'd empty the dancefloor of the ladies.

I'd see this in a Miles Dyson type set.

Tom Zanetti's voice is an excellent compliment to this track, and in addition I think this remix would stand alone without it as well. The lyrics aren't just pasted over the top, and yet the track is well built and complete.

Some nice old-skool style samples are thrown in there to keep it grounded and accessible. This is a dirty monster that would suit a playlist once you've warmed the crowd to a big-room, 1:00am sound.

I can't stop listening to this one! I love the lyrics, it's different and funky and moves at a nice pace.

I heard this on an MOS compilation and had to wait a while before it was released (I hate that about MOS compilations; they're mixed like catalogues now, trimmed of all breakdowns, mixes and blends to fit 50 songs on one disc, then you go looking for the songs and you can't get them yet).

This is a little bit more of a listen-on-your-ipod track than a party starter, but if the crowd recognises this song, you'll get a fair few cheers when they hear "ex-nay on the bullshit, man". A tough one to mix though, so be warned.

If there are tracks that mixes sexy with fidget, then this has to be one of them. A good track to introduce some electro/fidget into a set that is a little more accessible and fun.

Not a lot to this song, but it doesn't try to be that sophisticated, just a fun dance tune, and I guess that's why I bought this.

Keep this one up the front of the playlist for the masses.

Techy, electro, fidgety, fun, and a slight dash of hectic. Got no idea what the high pitch lyrics are saing (I can make out "sceptical", and that's pretty much it), but this is a nice little driving electro-breaks number.

If you want something grinding and tech to go with a track like Wired Wasted Wanted then this is excellent. Good to build up to or break it down from tracks that are a bit chunkier than your average breaks.

Wired Wasted Wanted - Guerilla Tech Remix feat. MC Gav Star Remix

Certainly not for the faint hearted. This is a monster! Dirty, twisted and hectic. Little melody has been added to this electro breaks heavyweight.

I chose this mix for the addition of MC Gav Star, who spits lyrics at a pretty impressive rate to keep up with this track.

I'd keep this one for the fans of heavy electro breaks. I don't think I'd add this to the playlist for the masses, as it's a bit too hectic for the average house/breaks music lover. But definitely a fantastic track when you're in the mood to have your life ruined by something a bit heavier.

An absolute party starter! This track is fun and funky, with a rasta feel. If you listen to the lyrics you'll pick up some lines from classic hip-hop and rap songs from back in the day.

"Let me clear my throat."

If you want immediate impact or you want a track in the middle of your set to increase the dance floor participation, you'd be hard pressed not to select a track like this.

Records Back (Electrixx Remix)

Ha ha! Irony at it's best. This song talks about bringing vinyl back and that laptop DJs suck, yet I have this on MP3.

Very funny lyrics and a ripping good breaks track. Doesn't need the humour to carry this one. This would make a great club track to get the party started.

"I like my music physical. 'Cos MP3's invisible!"

Ease The Pressure (Rocket Pimp Remix)

A good party starter. I think they should have left out the piano sample and and yeah-yeah hoo-hoo stuff. I feel it adds too much cheese to this track, but the rest of it is down and dirty. Very anthem! Very trashy and fun.

This will make a good party starter; played as the first track to start a set. Something the get everyone's attention, after the previous crap DJ has just left the stage.

Raw Power [Calvertron Rip Up]

A good combination of rock and heavy electro. WARNING: playing while driving may increase weight of foot on accelerator by 5%.

I found this while searching for something by Calvertron. First heard this guy mix on Hatiras.com and his stuff is disgusting! Awesome!

I originally found this on a Hatiras Presents mix, then found it on YouTube, and it took a while to come out, but I finally got it.

Again, a listening song rather than a club song, this is a really nice track. Mooli's vocals are strange and soothing. Great lyrics!
